Helanka Exhibition Stall Builders began with a simple observation: exhibitors across Sri Lanka were assembling stalls for exhibitions and special occasions through a patchwork of separate carpenters, painters, and last-minute fixes, with no single team accountable for how the finished stand actually looked on the floor. Founded to close that gap, Helanka set out to become a total-solutions company, carrying every stall from the first sketch to the final installation under one roof, using in-house resources and in-house expertise rather than a chain of subcontractors.
The company's earliest and most defining decision was to specialise in the Octagon System, an International Standard shell-scheme format built around reusable, modular components. Where a fully custom stall is often built once and then discarded, an octagon-system stall can be reconfigured, resized, and redeployed across exhibitions and across years, giving exhibitors a durable, cost-effective footprint instead of a one-time expense. Helanka fabricated its octagon components to international specification from the outset, and that early discipline around tolerances and finish quality is still the foundation the company builds on today.
As demand grew beyond shell-scheme stands, Helanka expanded into Custom-Design Stalls, bespoke structures designed and fabricated around a client's brand, space, and budget, still built entirely in-house rather than farmed out to third parties. Alongside stall fabrication, the company built a full accessories division, supplying the furniture, signage, lighting, and finishing pieces that turn a bare structure into a complete brand presence, and extended its fabrication skills into outdoor advertising, producing hoardings, billboards, and signage for clients whose needs reach beyond the exhibition floor.
Over the years, Helanka's portfolio has grown to include stalls at BMICH and other major Sri Lankan exhibition venues, working with organisations across energy, industry, weddings, and consumer sectors. What has stayed constant through that growth is the founding principle: one accountable team, from concept to installation, so that nothing is left for the client to chase down separately.
Today, Helanka Stall Builders (Pvt) Ltd operates from its corporate head office in Gonawala, Kelaniya, continuing to combine octagon-system reliability with custom-design creativity, building stalls engineered to international standard and designed to represent every client's brand at its best.
